H. Kent Weldon Scholarship
Share |

The H. Kent Weldon Scholarship Program was created in memory of the late Kent Weldon by his family and with the support of his higher education colleagues at the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and ICI. It was established in 2008.

Each year two students are selected and each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The Program will provide need-based financial aid awards to those students who meet the program guidelines and are selected through the awards process as follows:

  • The scholarships will be awarded through a competitive process. Financial aid officers or other appropriate campus personnel will nominate candidate(s) who will submit an application on a timely basis.
  • There is a limit of two submissions per institution.
  • Students must be residents of Indiana and either a junior or senior in the next academic year, scheduled to graduate by the following June.
  • As a need-based award program, verification of financial need is to be confirmed by a campus official for each student nominee; students must be eligible for either or both of the following: a federal Pell Grant or a need-based grant from the Department of State Financial Aid for Indiana.
  • Student(s) must be in good academic standing at his or her college.
  • Awards will be paid directly to the student's college and will be applied directly to the student's tuition/fee account.
